The British manufacturer of equipment and systems for sailing yachts (including winches, hatches, windows, anchor systems, bow thrusters) refers to replica anchors that resemble the Delta type.

Original text of the communication:

The genuine Delta anchor can be recognised by the Lewmar logo. Lewmar manufactures the genuine and only Delta Anchor, which has been voted the best product in numerous tests and has been selected by organisations such as the RNLI for its unique holding power and superior quality. The Lewmar Delta anchor is the result of a meticulous design and manufacturing process. Its weight distribution guarantees that it always finds a firm hold regardless of the angle of fall when it hits the sea bed. When purchasing, it is therefore essential to check that it is a genuine Lewmar Delta anchor with a lifetime guarantee and type approval from Lloyds Register.

Peter Meyer from Lewmar Northern Europe adds that the Delta anchors are subject to regular tensile tests, which confirm the high certified holding force. The copy could not demonstrate these tests. Furthermore, the Delta anchor has a self-righting function that presses the nose of the anchor into the ground, which the copy does not have either. Apart from this, Lewmar's Delta anchor has a lifetime guarantee, which the copy also does not offer.
